What can you do on a trip to South Africa?

The reasons for traveling to South Africa are as numerous as its populations of zebras, lions, rhinos, and elephants. The level of service; the restaurants, both in cities and in more remote areas; and the diversity of experiences you can have are more than enough reasons to take a trip to South Africa.

Famous for its safaris; its rich history, from colonial times to apartheid and the struggle for freedom; stunning landscapes; and the numerous outdoor activities you can enjoy like hiking, rafting, or surfing. You can also include a few days on the coast in your trip to South Africa to see whales and sharks.

If you’re thinking of traveling to South Africa, we recommend including in your itinerary Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with its iconic Table Mountain, expansive beaches, and vibrant atmosphere. Don’t miss the Winelands, the vineyard lands, where you can taste some of the world’s best wines; Cape Peninsula, with its stunning landscapes, the penguins of Boulders Beach, the seals of Seal Island, and of course Kruger National Park or one of the private reserves nearby, and embark on a safari in search of the Big Five.

You might also consider adding to your trip to South Africa the Garden Route, the Kalahari Desert, or the mountains and the Drakensberg Canyon.

Experiences and Activities in South Africa

Stopovers when traveling to South Africa

Add unique experiences to your trip

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Istanbul have become an almost obligatory stop for millions of travelers flying to South Africa every year.

This is due to their strategic geographical location in the Middle East. And of course, the high capacity of their flag airlines: Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines.

If you’re flying with any of these airlines, adding a stopover to your trip to South Africa is a must you should take advantage of:

  • With a stopover, you can take a break along the way and enjoy two or three nights in one of these cities. This will allow you to rest and forget about the annoying jet lag, offering you also a wide variety of experiences and activities that enrich any type of trip.
  • By splitting the journeys, we can find you the best airfares and the best flight schedules to South Africa, thus adapting your vacation to your comfort and preferences.
